July 19, 2019 - I am looking forward to a great year, and I'm excited about getting to know all of you! Please start thinking about your independent reading books - you will read a book of your choice at the start of class each day, so be thinking about something you have been "meaning to read", books that you just can't find time for (but want to read), or maybe even trying a whole new genre that you are curious about. The key is... it should be something that you WANT to read, something you can ENJOY, something you CHOOSE to read. If you don't like reading then think about topics that are interesting to you, things you like to do (like sports), or something you have always wanted to know more about.

"We are each gifted in a unique and important way. It is our privilege and our adventure to discover our own special light."                                      -- Mary Dunbar

Welcome to our class website! A place where students and parents can find information about class schedules, assignments, and additional resources that students can use to improve their skills and comprehension. There is also a section that allows students to interact with me and with each other regarding topics we discuss in class, questions they have, books they want to recommend, and much more.

My goal is to provide the tools that will help each of you be successful. This begins in the classroom and our class website is an extension of those tools. Communication is a key element in the effectiveness of this page so use it to help you organize, plan, and participate... then tell me how it helped you or did not help you.
