    COVID-19 Distance Learning Update

Interesting times we're in right now!  In light of Covid-19 and the closure of LHS, the special services team is here to serve the unique needs of our students who are in both a special and critical time in their lives.  During the school closure, the District will implement various distance learning strategies to provide instruction and educational services to our students.  As a result, your child's special education program will be provided through a distance learning model using online or virtual instruction, curriculum-based instructional activities, and other approaches.  Special education Case Managers will be available via e-mail from 9-11 AM; 1-3 PM; and 6-7 PM daily to answer e-mailed questions.  Students can also e-mail content-specific teachers during those times.  Please see specific teachers' pages for correct e-mail addresses.  Additionally, in order to further assist our students who have an IEP, Case Managers will make weekly contact with their students to monitor progress.

We are in unchartered territory and yet, one thing remains the same!  IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act) requires IEP's be reviewed annually.  Annual Review ARD's will be held via conference call.  If your student's IEP is due for review, you will be contacted with a scheduled date and time in the near future.
