Lampasas FFA and FFA Booster
On behalf of Mrs. Hail, Ms. Quackenbush, Mrs. Thacker, and the officer team, we would like to welcome the students back to school. We look forward to this upcoming year, as we strive to expand our chapter and classroom activities. This year will be filled with many new opportunities for not only our students, but our parents as well. In our classes we will be encouraging our students to join the Lampasas FFA Chapter. This is not something that is required, yet is highly recommended. The FFA is an organization that promotes leadership, personal growth, and career success. This is an opportunity for our students to grow as leaders while gaining valuable skills and knowledge.
The Lampasas FFA chapter is pleased to announce that we have created a booster club to assist in our students growth. The booster club will allow the parents and community members to assist in the development of our program. The booster club will assist in planning events for our FFA chapter, help raise funds to allow students more opportunities, and help with other activities throughout the year. The alumni will meet the first Tuesday of each month. Meetings will start at 6 PM.
FFA Dues: You may pay your dues between now and September 10th.
- $15 per member
- $15 for chapter t-shirt
***Please join us on September 10th for our first meeting in the cafeteria.****
Greenhand Camp, District Fun Day, and FFA Team Opportunities
On September 14th we will take members to the District Funday. This is an opportunity for all FFA members to meet and interact with members within our district. The district officers will lead the members through leadership activities and help create a lasting friendship. The Lampasas FFA Chapter will also be taking students to the Area VII Greenhand Camp on September 21. If your student is a first year agriculture student and wishes to participate in this event, please let Mrs. Hail know as soon as possible so that we can get them registered. This is an opportunity for students to get firsthand knowledge about what FFA has to offer. The students will meet many new friends, participate in leadership activities, and gain valuable knowledge about FFA. This is a one day event held in Floresville. We hope our students are as excited as we are about growing our program. It is important for every member to get involved and take advantage of every opportunity available. The students will also have the opportunity to join judging teams and participate in various contests. The students will practice during academic to limit before or after school requirements. The LDE and CDE contests allow students to get involved, learn more about various agriculture related industries, gain confidence, leadership skills, and bond with other members. Keep in mind that these opportunities do not cost anything out of pocket other than their dues unless they wish to bring extra spending money for snacks and souvenirs.
