One of the best things you can work on with your student is fact fluency (basic addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts). Some students work well with flashcards or being verbally quized, other students do better if it is done as a game. Use cards, dice, or dominos to create problems to solve.
Fact fluency takes repeated practice. 5-10 minutes a day is great!
