    All changes/additions are to be requested in August and effective September 1st of each year for payroll deductions and benefits.

    The only exception is a new employee will complete a section 125 Benefit Election Form when hired and an employee with a family status change (marriage, divorce, death, birth or adoption of child, and termination of employment of spouse) can make a change to their election within 30 days of a family status change.  To enroll online please see the "Benefits Overview Guide" below for the online enrollment instructions.

    During open enrollment in August, as an employee, you are more than welcome to invite your spouse or a family member with you when you meet with a representative to discuss the benefits that are available to all Lampasas ISD regular employees and their families.  To enroll online please see the "Benefits Overview Guide" below for the online enrollment instructions.

    Cafeteria and Other Benefits available to LISD employees include:

    Ø  Retirement Services 403(b) / 457 Plans.  An employee may sign up for retirement services at any time during the year by contacting a First Financial representative. 

    Ø  Flexible Spending Plans allow an employee the opportunity to set aside money each year before taxes to pay for out-of-pocket unreimbursed medical expenses and/or dependent care expenses.  (Benefit does not automatically renew, requires sign-up each year.)  NEW in 2019-20, employees may sign up for a Health Savings Account (HSA) if your Flexible Spending Plan is drawn down to $0.00 prior to August 31, 2019 and you are enrolled in the Active Care 1HD (qualifying high deductable health plan) for the 2019-20 plan year.  Please review other advantages and restrictions related to HSA accounts.
    Ø  Disability Income Insurance is an insurance benefit that will pay you if you become disabled (short term or long term) and are unable to work due to a covered accident and/or illness.  The insurance benefit varies by plan, but may begin as early as 15 days after disability.  (American Fidelity Assurance Company)

    Ø  Cancer Insurance is designed to be a supplemental insurance that will provide you with additional income to help cover out-of-pocket costs for non-medical disease related expenses that health insurance might not cover.  The district offers two cancer policies.  An individual policy with American Fidelity and a group cancer policy (lump sum policy) through MetLife.  You can enroll in either Cancer Policy.

    Ø  Critical Illness Insurance provides a lump sum payment upon the first diagnosis of a covered condition for employee, spouse, or dependent children. (MetLife)

    Ø  Accident Insurance helps cover expenses for you and your family associated with accidental injuries. (American Fidelity Assurance Company)

    Ø  Heart and Stroke Insurance can help you protect yourself and your family against various costs.  (Allstate) 

    Ø  Hospital Indemnity Insurance can help you protect yourself and your family against various costs associated with hospital stays.  (Aflac) 

    Ø  Life Insurance benefits are available.  You may choose a Permanent Life insurance policy through Texas Life or a Term Life insurance policy through American Fidelity or a Group Life insurance policy through Dearborn.

    Ø  Dental Insurance is a policy to help offset your dental expenses.  Be sure to review the plan.  Some benefits have a waiting period.  There are also options for employees to elect to have insurance on employee and spouse or employee and children at a lower rate than employee and family.  (Ameritas)

    Ø  Vision Insurance is an insurance to help offset your vision expenses.  Two plans are available with EyeMed so you can choose the one that meets your family's needs.
