Jr. VASE (Visual Art Scholastic Event) 2014

On Saturday, May 3rd, 2014, seven LMS students traveled to Goldthwaite with art teacher Misti Harrell and competed in the regional Jr. VASE competition (Visual Art Scholastic Event). Each student submitted artwork to be judged as well as participated in a 10 minute interview session. Out of the 13 artworks submitted from Lampasas, 11 pieces received a Superior rating and a regional medal, 2 received an Excellent rating, and several received perfect scores. In addition to the students who won Regional medals, we had one student also win 2 State medals.
The following are the results from the competition:
Kalista Acevedo – 2 Superior Regional medals; 2 State medals
Sara Bryant – 2 Superior Regional medals
Savannah Cook – 2 Superior Regional medals
Mykenzie Cummings – 2 Superior Regional medals
Cheyenne Kovacsy – 2 Superior Regional medals
Sydney Wells – 1 Excellent rating
Emma Whaley – 1 Superior Regional medal; 1 Excellent rating
