Jr. VASE Contest
On Saturday, May 4th, 2013, five LMS students traveled to Goldthwaite with art teacher Misti Harrell and competed in the regional Jr. VASE competition (Visual Arts Scholastic Event). Each student submitted artwork to be judged as well as participated in a 10 minute interview session. Out of the 10 artworks submitted from Lampasas, 8 pieces received a Superior rating and a regional medal, 2 received an Excellent rating, and 5 received perfect scores. In addition to the students who won Regional medals, three of the students also won State medals.
The following are the results from the competition:
Tristan Caylor – 1 Superior Regional medal (perfect score); 1 Excellent rating; winner of t-shirt design contest
Montana Hallmark– 2 Superior Regional medals (1 perfect score); 1 State medal; winner of t-shirt design contest
Allison Harrell – 2 Superior Regional medals; (1 perfect score); 1 State medal
Nicole Valdez – 2 Superior Regional medals; (2 perfect scores); 1
State medal
Hope Veroneau – 1 Superior Regional medal; 1 Excellent rating
