LISD School Safety Plan
Attention Parents,
Lampasas ISD requires random drug-testing of any student in grades 7-12 who chooses to participate in school-sponsored extracurricular activities. LISD contracts with a third-party company to administer all random drug tests.
As in previous school years, all students who are randomly selected to participate in drug testing must complete the test in order to continue involvement in school-sponsored extracurricular activities. This includes remote, asynchronous students who are currently participants.
On the day of a random drug test, any LISD student who is randomly selected to participate in drug testing must participate in the drug test by the end of that same school day. If a remote/asynchronous student is contacted to complete a random drug test, it is the responsibility of that student and/or parent to arrange transportation to Lampasas Middle School or Lampasas High School to complete the random drug test that same day. If an asynchronous student does not complete a random drug test on the given school day, that student shall be ineligible for participation in school-sponsored extracurricular activities for a minimum of 21 school days (LISD Board Policy FNF Local).
If you have any questions regarding our LISD random drug testing procedures, please feel free to contact your campus
